Dear All

It is very deep regret that we have to make the harsh decision to postpone the November Burnt is Steam event. We hope soon to have a new date arranged for early April.

The event we have planned is of consummate quality, we have all manner of interesting situations and props to play with. However due to the delays in getting the places filled, we feel that we do not have the time available to us to order and make the props, costumes and adequate dressings required.

Burnt is Steam is a non profit making system, we run events because we enjoy to tinker and make stuff and because we like to run quality events. The time and monies available to us at this time will not allow us produce the event that we would be proud of and that you deserve. We work to a shoe string budget as it is, putting much of our own time and resources into an event. We have young families and little spare time, anyone who has previously been in a Burnt is Clean event will affirm that they are somewhat special and we would like to keep our quality reputation.

This has been a very difficult decision to make. We thank those who have booked and assure you that we do not take this decision lightly; we were very much looking forward to it. Anyone who has paid may request their money back or we will hold it and put it towards the new date. Those who have supported us and paid up on time will receive a token of our appreciation.

We understand that our events are expensive, perhaps in the current economic climate a little too expensive, but they are that way to ensure that each one is unique and something to be proud of We strictly limit the number of players to allow each to shine, rather than become part of a massed crowd. We believe this makes for a better experience. We can only achieve this by charging a premium to a standard event. We think that when you add up how much a catered weekend and entertainment in the ‘real world’ would be, such as a meal in a restaurant and a show, that we are managing to do things on a tiny budget, calling in favours and putting many hours of unpaid work ourselves in.

So again we are sorry to all of those who have already put in time and effort. We hope you will stand with us and we get get this blasted ship flying in April(ish)

As soon as we have a date we will let you know.
