I have a heart condition. If you hit me, it's murder.

Just a quickie, It has come to my attention( after a weekend monstering at outlaw) that the single most powerful ability within any system is the SUBDUE call. Apparently simply striking somone on the head renders them unconcious, this is also true at BIC events so its not specific to Dummonni. I cant help feeling that this needs a rethink. Simply bopping somone on the head and laying them out cold is daft its more potent than than any other attack. its not so bad at BIC (it wouldnt be after all) where you only get one hit point anyway its as easy to kill em as it is to stun em just depends what you want em for (hmmm still warm wenches from the rag....easy now) however in a system with multiple hits (the skin crawls at the thought) it appears a lot easier to knock em out and run em through (back to the girls again) than to bother fighting em. So I propose a new approach for the old Mythlore thang.

firstly, you cant knock folk out in tin hats, obvious

secondly, you can only knock people out if you take them from behind (just hoik up their dresses, or pull down their trousers if your Will...we have the photos) unless....

Which brings me to point three which is sort of a double point. the target in question (hark at me using military terms, actually I was in the forces but I dont like to talk about it...but this one time in Nam...) is being restrained by fellow players (sort of you hold him Ill hit him)
or if both the combatants are engaged in fisticuffs with no weapons drawn. this last point is a little oblique and I dont want everyone dropping their swords to fight things and knock em out then pick em up to finish off the bast*rd.

the other thing that might be considered is that to actually knock somone out you have to use an implement for just that very thing, only too often do folk knock monsters out with very same double handed axe that they were previously disemboweling a demon with.

and the flat of a sword is a bit naff as well, it might encourage people to make leather saps or nightsticks for just that very purpose, non lethal weapons as it were, unless you decide to spend 5mins bludgeoning them withit, which is fun.

ok please respond, but only agreeing with me as I have had a hard day of it and I dont take criticism well.

PS: just to give you plenty of warning prior to the event you may or may not need water, but will need eating utensils at Biclore (as I like to call it)

fare thee well travellers...or dont.

It all hurts more than it used to.
UK
Subdual only possible with a cosh or similar? Get's my vote! It does seem like a massive loophole ready to be exploited by the unscrupulous - but we won't have any of those types now will we?

I'd suggest only dazing the victim with a brawl-type blow - a bit of a stagger backwards and some head shaking sort of thing.

Too many unforseen eventualities - too many rules to cover!!!!
