Well done Ian, Larry and I are going to have to write a new plot now, thanks!

Back on topic

I think the new version gets it more or less right. Stalkers are not over powered, I think there are some really good and fun skills in the sytem, almost wouldn't mind to play myself. There may be a few bits we can adjust. If there are any other major or minor issues, let us know now. I would much rather sort it out here than in the field.

Damn! Why didn't we think of that plot!?!

God that'll make a fantastic adventure. I can see it now - the party wanders aimlessly down a forest track and suddenly comes across a group of orcs beating up a defenceless old man. They rescue him only to discover he's dying from his wounds, and despite pouring all the healing they have into him, (leaving little for their own uses later - they're just those sort of guys), they're unable to save him!

BUT! Just as he's about to peg it, he passes on part of some important information/a map/an amulet/ a weapon of mystical power into their safe keeping with instructions to find the other pieces and take them to someone else who'll guard the mysterious Completed Item from the Evil Powers that seek it's information/directions/secret/mighty magic/distruction for their own nefarious ends!

The party are then plunged into a desperate quest to find the other pieces (probably each guarded by a FEARSOME FOE) and bring them to that mysterious person while the hordes of the Evil Power hunt them down like dogs over the following 4-48 hours! (depending on money paid).

BUT! There'll probably be a twist somewhere along the line where the person who's meant to have the completed information/map/amulet/weapon of mystical power turns out to be a double-crossing bad guy himself!

BUT! The party manage to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at the very last minute! (with about a 20-30% death rate just to make it feel like they've really worked for their money).

Bloody fantastic! I can't wait!

Will they both be like that Si?

PS: Stalker are the backbone of any party - they flush out all the monsters and do all the running the other party members are too heavily armoured to do. They therefore deserve all the extra cash they find.

Dead by dawn!

Thanks guys, now a bloody third rewrite. Actually I was going to have it that the dead guy at the start was not actually dead but was the evil one, feigning his death in order to get the party to do all the hard work for him...

Right then, there this toll booth and a sign saying none shall pass... (actually its a troll booth etc etc etc)

Enough with the bad plots please. There will come a time where you will hit upon our plot. Its all in the playing anyway, even when you know the plot (a certain BiC adventure comes to mind)
