Burnt is Clean Newsletter – October 2007

That is to say, a letter of news, per se, ipso facto, status quo vardis, tres chordos, rocking all over the world.

A further couple of nights at the Mermaids Purse
12-14 October, Caddihoe.
Yikes, that’s only next weekend. Time to put on make up and get things right. All players places full up, however we are always on the look out for crew, so grab your granny and drag them on down. The more will be the merrier.

Cook problem
We have got this kind of sorted, alas the food will not be up the haute cuisine of the wonderful Carrie. It will probably be squirrel stew and bits and bobs. Don’t worry, we will run you ragged and it will all taste warm and good. However it is not to late for any cordon bleu chiefs to come forward and take up duties.

Food and Water continued

Bring a plate and fork. We are not sure of the current water situation and can only advise that you bring some of your own. If there is a problem we will do a run and get some more as necessary. Last thing we want is anyone being dehydrated. If you want to eat then bring a plate. Nuff said.

Other stuff and people trying to sell you stuff.

Black Company
Our good friend Mark is running a new system based on the Black Companies, he will be pimping this fetid filth at our fine and upstanding moral bastion of rectitude and decency. Please do him the honour of reading the attached flyer. It looks low fantasy with a gritty feel. The event is taking place at the excellent Dumnonni site so anyone local is free to come along and crew and get a taster of the thing, or if you are a real man or woman of valour then I believe there are still player places available. Go on, go on.

Photos on a DVD
Young Roy is once again pushing his pictographic digital versatile discs. I can vouch for their versatility as once you have finished fawning over pictures of my Herculean form, you can use the disc as a coaster or playing Xena warrior princess chakras. These DVDs come packed with pictures of me, who knows you might even be in the background of a few shots, probably a bit fuzzy. Get in touch with Roy and let him know you are interested in a copy. He can be found at roy.smallpage@googlemail.com

The Mutineers
I am glad to announce that we are going to be graced with the sweet musical virtues of the new house band. Bring your dancing shoes and a few coppers to put in their collection tray as we sure as heck ain’t paying them. Don’t worry - we keep them needy to assist in their creative and artistic process. Its for their own good, they’ll thank us one day, hopefully when they are deservedly rich and famous.

Coming attractions

A couple of nights with nothing to worry about – just the wind
Caddihoe November 2008
A provisional title but this is an exciting new project pushing the boundaries of Burnt is Clean in an exciting and different direction.
In a nutshell this will be a horror event based in 1972 Britain. This may be a one off or it may be the start of something beautiful. We shall s*ck it and see.
We will maintain our high level of costume and props with a Machiavellian plot.
This will be something special and as such we will be having very limited player places. On the other hand and not wishing to go into too much detail we would like a cast of thousands (not that we need them for fluffy bunnys or anything). A website is currently being constructed and I hope to have a flyer out and confirmation of the date ready for next week.

Next Swashbucklin Caper
? ? ?
Due to various reasons there may or may not be a normal BiC next year. If there is it would probably be September at the earliest. Tell us how much you love it and convince us you care and we might consider it.

Future Swashbucklin Caper
Summer 2009
I was looking in to the possibility of running an event at the new Stockwood lrp site. Details and piccys here. This would be pir*tes in an adventure in the Americas. Cursed Aztec gold and that sort of thing. The site is not cheap and so this event would cost a little more, but I think it could be worth it. Most likely Summer 2009 so plenty of time to save some pennies. Just want to know if anyone would be up for it?

Mythlore Reunion
Caddihoe, Spring 2009
Shhh don’t tell anyone. We have been asked to run a Mythlore Reunion event. Top secret and mum is the word. Crew of the highest calibre required. Those with nice kit watch out cause we are going to be on the blag. More info and website coming soonish.

Any thing you would like to add in your defence
If there is anything you wish to add to any newsletter or the website then let me know.

To conclude
If you are not playing then come on down and crew and see for yourself what all the fuss is about. Just give us a shout if we can be of any assistance.

Thought for the week

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. Some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein that we shall go either mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age.

Yes, I should like to add well done to si for the excellent updates, good work as ever. also I would like to add that the 70s thing is shaping up nicely....very nicely and it would be a shame for you lot to bugger it up, so to clarify, We are very much going for a "life on mars"look to the event rather scoobie doo or 70s party feel. this means that costume and kit ought to be "realistic" rather than fancy dress or american disco. so no afros or spandex glamrock stereotypes. I know this is rich coming from the "stripey shirted garlic bedecked red hat wearing fr*nchmen" advocates, but we would really like to create a feel for the event.(wanky wanky roleplayer speak I know)

so if your interested in coming and dunno what to wear now that I have shat on your foxy brown impression heres some hints.

simon snorkels
harris bomber jackets
flares (or course)
fred perry polo shirts
dunlop green flash
anything knitted by your mum
those awful beige adidas v neck t shirts in two tone brown biege.....WHY?
duffle coats

Get the idea, aslo if anyone has any old 70 clothes to get rid of let us know and chuck it our way, this also goes for record players, soda streams, or fondus.

cheers now see you at the weekend
