You grab an imaginary axe and chop down an imaginary tree. With the imaginary tree you fashion it into pretend planks and build a make-believe gantry. Climbing the make believe gantry you gain access to a noose that is just a sham.
The Frenchman looks mightily bewildered, stupefied and ecstatic as you lower the sham noose around his neck.
‘Zoot alor!’ he shouts as you tighten the sham noose.
Petit Jacque leaps from the Frenchman’s pocket and begins to gnaw at the sham noose.
You snigger as you remember that you made the sham noose with pretend poisoned rope. Petit Jacque silently coughs and splutters and expires without a sound like a ghost that can’t be seen or heard.
